Dwarf Balloon Flower ‘Astra White’
Platycodon grand. ‘Astra White’
1 qurart pot
Vigorous and floriferous, this dwarf herbaceous perennial produces an abundance of bell-shaped, flaring, pure white flowers, up to 3 in. across, adorned with 5 broad, pointed lobes that form a star shape.
Resembling bellflowers (Campanula), they open from large, plump, balloon-like buds which almost beg to be popped. Blooming from mid to late summer, the upward facing blossoms are held singly or in small clusters atop upright, branched, leafy stems. Adaptable, long-lived and easy of care, this compact Balloon Flower is perfect for edging the border, rock gardens or in mixed containers.
