African Daisy Flowerpower 'Spider Pink'

Osteospermum Flowerpower 'Spider Pink'

4-inch pot

FlowerPower™ Spider Pink Osteospermum features delicate, interesting blooms that resemble tiny spoons fanning out from a typical daisy eye. The result is the overall hardiness you expect from an African Daisy with an airy, unique beauty that is sure to be a conversation starter. Heat and drought tolerant, once established these plants still appreciate water on hot summer days - you'll be rewarded with continuous quirky blooms.

Unlike the old fashioned varieties, these modern African Daisies stay open night and day. They also have a better shade tolerance, excellent branching and all round vigour. Prune African Daisy plants black late summer and add some fertiliser to produce second flush of flowers that will last into autumn.

Plant these evergreen perennials in a sunny spot with moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil for best results. Water to establish, then keep moist during flowering to keep them blooming at their best. They will cope with dry conditions but will not flower as well or for as long. If you want them to bloom really well, add a weekly dose of diluted liquid fertiliser and they will go nuts! A great choice for stopping erosion on slopes. In warmer climes they tend to remain evergreen. In areas with hard frost they may be annuals.
